On April 29th in 2021 a fire broke out in one of the biggest landfills containing tires in Kuwait. This happened in the region of Salmi, Kuwait where there are currently over 40 million tires being held.

The estimated data showed that globally in each year, approximately 1000 million tires are not suitable for further use or retreading.
